Building Trades Instructor
This is a fulltime permanent position is located in Seward, AK within AVTEC-Alaska’s Institute of Technology, the state’s public postsecondary vocational technical school.
The incumbent is responsible for the development and delivery of the Construction Trades program that includes carpentry, residential electrical maintenance. Program topics include: construction safety, hand tools and power tools, construction blueprints, building materials, foundations, framing, roofing, insulation, sheetrock, painting, cabinetry, flooring, and concrete pouring, NEC requirements, electrical construction drawings, and common electrical troubleshooting.
Applicants must have a minimum of 4 years journey level experience in residential construction and/or facility maintenance. Applicants must have excellent verbal communication skills and basic computer skills. Experience in teaching and curriculum desirable, but not required. Salary $53K - $62K DOE.
