Alaska Maritime Training Center
Veterans Affairs
The staff at AVTEC Maritime would like to give back to
those that have sacrificed so much for our country and help them on the road
to a career in the lucrative maritime industry. Some of our staff have
served in the Armed Forces and know the challenges and opportunities that
veterans have in finding professional training and employment. The
specialized training that many veterans receive in the Military parallels
what a merchant mariner requires in order to achieve some of the highest
carrier levels in the maritime industry.
The economic downturn has had detrimental affect on
many industries in the US
and around the world. The difficult economy has not stagnated maritime
growth. In fact the maritime industry is booming all over the world
including Alaska. Maritime
employers are actively searching for qualified, dependable people to fill
their crews from entry level positions all the way up to captain. Many of
these employers are finding veterans to be perfectly suited for this type of
career.
If you are interested in pursuing a career in the
maritime industry and need training to accomplish this, please contact.
